Eggcellent is an egg cooking timer. It has no accounts, no login, no ads, and no advertising SDKs. We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

1. Who we are

Eggcellent is developed by Nikita Fedorov, an individual developer based in Poland (postal code 00-820), who is the data controller for the processing described below. Questions or requests: help.eggcellent@gmail.com.

2. Data that never leaves your device

The following is stored locally on your device only. We have no server that receives it, and we cannot read it:

  • Your preferences — language, egg size standard, units, appearance, and your notification and alarm settings, plus the state of the onboarding flow and of dismissible hints.
  • Your cooking history — up to 20 recent timers: egg type, doneness level, size, starting temperature, whether cold water was used, target and actual duration, the “too soft / perfect / too hard” rating you gave, and when it happened.
  • A randomly generated installation identifier (see section 3).

Deleting the app removes all of it.

3. Diagnostics and anonymous usage data (optional)

To keep the app stable and to understand which features are used, Eggcellent sends diagnostics to our error-monitoring provider. This is on by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Share diagnostics. Turning it off stops all collection immediately.

What is sent:

  • Crash reports — technical stack traces and the state of the app at the moment of an error.
  • Performance data — how long screens and operations take.
  • Interaction events — a fixed, short list: the app was opened; a session ended (with its duration in seconds); an onboarding step was reached; a timer was started, completed or cancelled (with the egg type and doneness level chosen); the doneness rating given after a cook; and which screen was viewed.
  • Technical device context added automatically by the SDK — device model, operating system version, app version, language and region settings, and coarse resource state such as available memory, storage and battery level.
  • A random installation identifier — a UUID generated on your device on first launch, so that several events can be recognised as coming from the same install. It is not your device ID, advertising identifier (IDFA / AAID), account, name, email, phone number or location.

What is never sent: your name, email address, phone number, postal address, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or the contents of your cooking history. The app removes such fields before sending, and the provider is configured with personal-data collection disabled, so your IP address is not attached to events.

No tracking. We do not use this data for advertising, we do not link it to your identity, and we do not combine it with data obtained from other companies. No App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown because no tracking takes place.

4. Notifications and alarms

Eggcellent schedules local notifications and, on supported iOS versions, system alarms, so that your timer rings on time. These are created and delivered by your device. No push notification tokens are registered, and no notification content is sent to us or to any server.

5. Service providers

ProviderPurposeWhere
Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) Crash reporting, performance and usage diagnostics European Union (EU data region)
Expo / EAS (650 Industries, Inc.) Delivering over-the-air app updates; receives your IP address, platform and app version when the app checks for an update United States
Apple, Google App distribution; they may provide us with aggregated, anonymous download and crash statistics under their own privacy policies Per their terms

These providers act as processors on our behalf and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes. Transfers outside the EEA and the UK are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Legal basis and retention (EEA / UK users)

We process diagnostics on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in keeping the app functional and secure. You may object at any time by switching diagnostics off in Settings. Diagnostic data is retained by our provider for a maximum of 90 days and is then deleted automatically. Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.

7. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Stop collection — Settings → Share diagnostics.
  • Delete everything stored locally — uninstall the app.
  • Exercise your statutory rights — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and lodging a complaint with your supervisory authority. Write to help.eggcellent@gmail.com.

Because diagnostics are not linked to your identity and we hold no account for you, we are generally unable to identify which records relate to you (Art. 11 GDPR). Where that is the case we will tell you, and you can end all further collection yourself using the setting above.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

8. Children

Eggcellent is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

The current version of this policy is always published at this URL, with its effective date at the top. If we revise the policy, that date changes with it, so you can tell at a glance whether anything has been amended since you last read it. We do not send notifications about policy changes inside the app. Whatever this policy says at any point, you can stop diagnostics collection yourself at any time in Settings → Share diagnostics.
